Toilette Review... How CLEAN WAS it THERE>?

Ever since I almost died of food poisening after eating from a buffet, I NOW visit the toilett First to see how clean it is/or not BEFORE I sample the food.

If the men's room reeks of body fluid... and the urinoils haven't been flushed in a decade, or two... IF there has never been any tissue peppa placed conveniently since the NEW was tarred to the roof...as EVIDENCED by the brownie smears on the wall... IF the floor tile is missing in a rather UN artsy fashion exposing the underlayer of CEMENT... I must then admit that the menu LIED to me when I walked in the front door.

NOW... I always visit the place first and do a careful survey to determine how long I may live IF I eat there. Chance is... if something is absent, hygenically, in the loo, then hypotheTICkly something might be PRESENT in the kitchen soup I should shudder to think about even after drinking my tenth pitcha of BREW.

Anyone have this experience? If so, WHAT did you do to adjust to the grimy factoids of lyfe?

I am writing a book about toiletts I have visited and the kitchens connected thereunto.

Am not sure what I shall title it. Suggestions?

thx.

WHY is no one replying to this post? Surely I am not the only one who sees filthy toiletts in eateries and wonders if the kitchen staff know how to WASH UP AFTER THE WIPE?

this is something that most people should know. If the bathroom is clean, then the kitchen is clean. What I hate is seeing the kitchen staff using the guest bathroom... and taking their dirty ass apron with them across the dining room floor. Ick! I think most companies should have a separate employee bathroom.

I cannot stand to use the same restroom as patrons......bleck..........I don't want to hear the drunken ramblings of women while they piss and re-do the make-up, nor do I want to have to clean up the messes THEY leave in a restroom. I happen to be too tidy to even like a public restroom, but I digress.

One does not eat at a "buffet" and expect the best of situations.

I once found a pubic hair in a taco bought at a public place of mexican eats. I took it to the cashier and after showing it to her, I wiped it on the cash register...went back and ate the taco. On careful reflection, I must say it may have been a NOSE hair instead of a pubic hair. In fact, it might have been one of MY nose hairs. ugh.

I absolutely agree. In Tennessee the employee bathroom is usually out back where the goats forage. (Did ah spell dat right?)
Aprons were made to wear WHITE as in ALWAYS white. Aprons were not made to wipe the hands on, or to wipe the nose with...or wateva.
It has gotta remain emaculate and pristine and free of soil, snot, buggahs and what knot. I love the old black/white movies where
Donna Reed walks into the Guvnah's library wearing a spotless WHITE apron.

Here's my take: If they can't keep areas that are visible to the customers clean, how can you expect them to keep clean what you cannot see?

One thing I can say is that no matter how well you clean a restroom before the doors open for dinner, there's still a good chance customers will manage to trash it by the end of the night, no matter how fancy the restaurant. In fact it's been in the fine dining establishments I've worked in where I've seen the most obnoxious customers when it comes to the bathroom (and just about everything else), throwing their paper towels all over the floor or in the sink, not flushing the toilet, etc... I've cleaned every bodily fluid imaginable off surfaces in there. It's foul, especially when I was the one who made it nice & clean at 5:00. The manager would usually send someone when time permitted to check it out but unless you have a bathroom attendant, it's impossible to be in there all the time.

But yes, the bathrooms should be cleaned well every day.
